In August a new marine diesel motor arrived in Chile for the boat ministry in the Chiloe Islands marking a new step of faith in GMSA's evangelistic outreach amoung islanders living on approximately 52 islands. As early as 1948, pioneer missionaries such as Albert Landis, Clair Moore and Bernie Poole, along with their families, braved the cold, wet, stormy climate to preach the Gospel to a people steeped in superstition and false religion. Single lady nurses followed, teaching God's Word as they sought to help those suffering from illness and accidents. Three Chilean men and their families continue to evangelize, equip others and establish local churches in the Islands. Pray for Misael who pilots the boat, and Rafael and Marcelo who pastor churches and train others.
The task is still great and should the Lord send a missionary to labor with these faithful servants, we believe the ministry could be enlarged to reach more men and women, boys and girls with the Gospel in remote islands and coastal towns springing up as a result of the surge in commercial salmon farming.
The task is not finished. May the Lord strengthen our hands in misions by going, giving and praying.
